The Ministry is responsible for providing justice to Kuwaiti society under a flexible system that ensures everyone's safety, security, and property, preserves the security of the community and its social order, upholds the sanctity of laws, and ensures their implementation. It also undertakes to establish a stable system for real estate ownership and protect the interests of minors and persons lacking legal capacity among Kuwaitis, as follows:
1. Organizing the necessary means to resolve disputes brought before the courts of various types and to consider crimes in accordance with the provisions of the law.
2. Conducting public lawsuits through the Public Prosecution on behalf of society in felonies and misdemeanors referred to it, through investigation, disposition, and prosecution in accordance with the provisions of the law.
3. Supervising prisons and other places where criminal sentences are executed.
4. Providing technical expertise to judicial bodies and other state agencies.
5. Official notification of judicial papers, lawsuit papers, and other matters, execution of judgments and executive instruments, and acceptance, deposit, and disbursement of related amounts in accordance with the provisions of the law.
6. Real estate registration, documentation, certification, proof of date, and annotation of commercial books in accordance with the provisions of the law.
7. Receiving and managing estates inherited by Kuwaiti minors, unborn children, and persons lacking legal capacity, and managing their affairs in accordance with the provisions of the law.
8. Inventory the estates of persons of unknown identity or unknown heirs, or in the absence of some of them, and preserve them, as well as the shares of minors who are not Kuwaitis. Receive the estates transferred to it from government agencies and deliver them to their beneficiaries in accordance with applicable regulations.
9. Cooperate with Arab, Islamic, and foreign countries and organizations in legal and judicial fields.
